Welcome to amaesha.com. A style blog created for those who wish to build an ethical and chic lifestyle starting with their wardrobe.
I’m a girl who enjoys clothes, I thrive to be my best possible self and use clothing as a way of expressing my personality and communicating my values. But I also know that overconsumption is one of the main problems that causes our unsustainable way of living.
I find it hard to navigate through all the information and impact caused by my everyday choices yet I do want to make responsible decisions.
I’ve created this blog for all fellow eco-conscious fashionistas to address this issue by the following approaches:
- Style guide :If we know our style, what looks good on us and the clothes that meet our lifestyle we can eliminate the clutter of unused items. By selecting fewer pieces we can afford to buy a better quality that will last longer and create less waste.
- Gathering information, and raising awareness of the social, economic and environmental impact of our clothes.
- Collect ethical alternatives for our purchases and practical advice on how one can be more responsible.
I know I’m far from being perfectly eco-conscious but I try my best to balance. I know that our sheer existence in the Western world is harmful for the Planet. But I do believe that we can do a lot for sustainability if we all just pick one aspect of our lives and do our best.
I don’t own a car and I don’t eat meat. Consumption is the next level where I would like to clean up my footprint. I picked fashion because it is the third largest polluter after agriculture and the oil industry.
I’m a marketing professional by training who has worked mainly for international nongovernmental organisations such as WWF but also as an adviser for high-end fashion brands. I currently live in Budapest, Hungary and my previous homes covered places like the United States and the United Arab Emirates. I have travelled a fair bit of the world that equipped me with curiosity, empathy and responsibility for all living things.
I’m passionate about fashion and try to be as useful as possible. I hope you will find this blog useful too. 🙂
